Short Fable Story: Mirror Devil and The Blind Mole

When you are unhappy the devil wears a grin… Maybe if we keep on smiling he’ll get tired of hanging ’round.

A young turtle prepared to jump into deep water swamps.

“It’s my first time.”

He wanted to swim in deep water as his seniors were playing in deep water.

“Hi young Turtle! Yes, you are with bad shaped body. Don’t try to swim! Look at you! How can you think that you can swim with your awkward body shape?” Said a mirror with hands and legs.

The young turtle saw the reflection of his oval body at the mirror. It was not an ordinary mirror. It was a mirror who could talk and show the weakness and ugliness of everyone. They call him the Mirror Devil.

“Look how ugly you are! You have no athletic shape body. Of course, you cannot swim,” said Mirror Devil, smiling at Young Turtle.

The young turtle showed   his gloomy face and thought about Mirror Devil’s suggestion. He looked in the mirror and said, “Yes, you are right.”

Mirror Devil smiled as the young Turtle accepted his weakness.

“Mirror Devil’s wrong!”

Suddenly, a loud voice interrupted them.

A mole with a star nose appeared.

“Turtle, you are wrong if you follow the mirror devil’s words. It will be a big loss. You will miss a great opportunity in your life adventure,” said Star Nose Mole.

Mirror Devil was laughing and then he said, “Mole, look at your shape. Are you a good swimmer?”

“I can swim. I don’t know whether I’m a good one,” Star Nose Mole answered.

“Look at me! See the mirror at me! Can you see how ugly your shape is? You have no athletic shape body,” said Mirror Devil.

“Mirror Devil, you are the expert to make someone hate himself. However, I’m sorry. I can’t see my ugliness. I’m blind,” said Star Nose Mole with a smiling face.

Mirror Devil shocked. His trick to underestimate the mole did not work because the blind mole could not see his reflection in the mirror. He could not see how ugly he was.

“Listen to me! I bet you cannot swim with your unathletic body shape,” said Mirror Devil.

“I cannot see but I can sense the vibes. I listen to your bad suggestions and I can sense bad vibes from you. You try to lower my self-esteem. Oh, Devil, don’t bet something you will lose. Now you see!”, said Star Nose Mole.

Suddenly, he jumped into the swamp and the splash of water wet Mirror Devil’s body. Star Nose Mole was swimming here and there. The mole swimming style amazed young turtles.

“Turtle, he’ll be unhappy because I’ll never wear a frown. Turtle, let’s swim! You can find your own style. Come on!” Star Nose Mole invited the turtle.

The young turtle encouraged himself and then he jumped into the swamp.

Again, the splash of water wet the mirror.

Young Turtle was swimming in the swamp.

“I can swim! I can swim!” Young Turtle cheered up.

He was playing together with Star Nose Mole in the swamp. Mirror Devil got upset because he failed.
